ReplyDelete"For thus says the LORD, 'When seventy years have been completed for Babylon, I will visit you and fulfill My good word to you, to bring you back to this place. For I know the plans that I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.I will be found by you,' declares the LORD, 'and I will restore your fortunes and will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you,' declares the LORD, 'and I will bring you back to the place from where I sent you into exile.'

ReplyDeleteWhile this verse is not specifically about God's character, I think it does tell us something about God in what He is saying He wants for us -- He wants us to include our intellect (mind) in our relationship with Him and our pursuit of Him. So, if He wants this from us, it means he, also, is "intellectual" in nature.
ReplyDeleteRomans 12:2 "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is —his good, pleasing and perfect will."

Yes! Thank you for sharing this verse. And I got you for BOTH entries.
DeleteJeremiah 29:11-13
ReplyDelete11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
He is forgiving and faithful!
