Apartment = Home.

Okay, so in the last apartment post, you saw it still in progress. Now it's done. In fact, I finished organizing the office last Saturday, just a couple of hours before our 8 houseguests arrived for a week (more on that later).

So, here's the finished apartment, which is now very much home. And very much wonderful.

And this is the room to the left of the door: the kitchen.

If you walk out of the kitchen, into the living room, this is the wall on your left.

The entrance to the sunroom/office is on the left.

Nala's bed is the first thing on the right. She loves looking out 'her' window.

And the DVD rack is the first thing on the left, then another book shelf.

Walking out of the sunroon, this is the wall on your left.

Then, turn to the right and see this (the front door) and kitchen.

Head down the hallway, past the washer/dryer area, and the first room is what will be the baby's room. Right now, we just have the bookshelf, the glider and Jeffrey (the giraffe).

But the guest bathroom is in that room too.

As I got to the back of the house, I had far less pictures. Oops. But at least you get the idea.

Pic 56 was from a field trip Matt took his GES 2nd graders to in Thailand. I believe they went to the Children's museum and maybe ice skating. This was Primer inside of a womb exhibit at the children's museum. A very random photo.

More Apartment Pics, Progress

Aunt Pat unpacking the kitchen. I have A LOT of kitchen stuff. Even after cleaning a lot out.

By the end of Day 2, we had actually made some progress. I even considered this room done (besides having pictures up.) The guest bathroom.
Which is a good thing. Because we had our first houseguest that night. Valerie's boyfriend, Zeb, was the one to win the first guest award. He was rewarded with a nice air mattress...
... and half of the room filled with "stuff". This part of the room was the staging area. Thanks for being such a gracious guest, Zeb!

Pictures being hung always makes me feel more settled.

I already mentioned I have a lot of kitchen stuff. So much that it didn't fit in the cabinets (or the storage area in the laundry room). So Matt found this cabinet at Office Depot which we re-purposed to be a kitchen cabinet. I actually like how it turned out.

Also, we had put money aside for an armoire. I wanted something where we could close the TV away. We looked forever and loved this when we first saw it. We waited a week though, just to make sure it was really the one we wanted. We LOVE it!

Yes, these are old pictures, but I wanted to share them anyway. It will help me remember one day. More to come...
